intermediate acting Class

Course Description:
Our Intermediate Acting Course is designed to have students continue their practice
and knowledge of acting techniques (E.g. Meisner, Stanislavsky, Hagen),
deepen their relationships to their work and scene partners, as well as
expand their use of voice for stage or screen.

Students come away with a
better understanding of the opportunities their role in Theater Arts brings
to themselves and the broader community, and their capacity to fulfill
that role.

Students will both be given and write their own scenes, monologues that reflect and influence society and culture. On-stage/on-screen scene work occurs
throughout the class, culminating in an audition for Oakland Theater Project Company Members and directors.

beginning acting Class

Course Description:
In our online youth Beginning Acting Course, students (grades 6-9) will be exposed to a wide variety of acting experiences. In addition to strengthening students’ acting skills, the course aims to build student self-confidence in front of others and promote creativity, thought and
reflection through Theater Arts.

Additionally, the course seeks to enrich students’ motivation to create scenes, monologues that reflect and influence society and culture — exploring how youth can be agents of change.

In addition to more traditional scene-work, students will also write their own monologues. On-stage/on-screen scene work occurs throughout the class, culminating in an audition for Oakland Theater Project Company Members .

I would DEFINITELY recommend this class to another student because it was very fun and I learned a lot.
It was fun, exciting, and educational.
I just want to say thank you Dawn. You were a great teacher.
