In a country built on the promise of liberty, what drives someone to try to kill the person who represents that promise?
Stephen Sondheim’s razor-sharp, multi–award–winning musical Assassins brings together a lineup of figures from American history who assassinated, or attempted to assassinate, U.S. presidents.
This bold, one-of-a-kind show, directed by Weston Scott and starring Adam KuveNiemann (Ironbound, Exodus to Eden) as every character, is an electrifying theatrical experience, spinning through a gallery of infamous lives to reveal how isolation, grievance, and fractured identity can erupt into violence.
As the show moves through history’s most infamous attempts on presidential power, it illuminates how a nation that confuses freedom with independence can begin to unravel.
Riveting, unsettling, and darkly funny, Assassins confronts our nation’s darkest impulses, offering a night at the theater that is as entertaining as it is provocative.
