Oakland Theater Project’s theater and rehearsal studio are both located at 1501 Martin Luther King Jr Way, Oakland, CA 94612.

The theater and studio are inside the FLAX art & design building and share common space with the retail store.

DRIVING

Oakland Theater Project is conveniently located off the 980 freeway.

The parking lot is located on 15th Street which is a one-way street. You can enter the address 672 15th St, Oakland, CA 94612 into your GPS to guide you directly to the parking lot.

Coming from 580 and HWY24

After merging onto 980 you will take exit 1D toward 18th street. Continue forward and merge with Brush Street. Turn left on 14th Street and cross over the freeway. Turn left at the next cross street onto Castro Street. Turn right onto 15th Street (a one-way street) and you will see the parking lot for the FLAX building) image below.

Coming from 880

After merging onto 980 you will take exit 1A toward 11th Street. Continue forward and merge onto Castro Street. Turn right onto 15th Street (a one-way street) and you will see the parking lot for the FLAX building) image below.

Public Transportation

BART

Oakland Theater Project is located near BART 12th Street Station.

Exit the 12th Street BART station using the exit that goes out to 14th Street and Frank Ogawa Plaza. Continue down 14th Street toward 980 and the theater, and then turn right onto Martin Luther King Jr Way. See the map below for a visualization.

**NOTE - the venue is approximately a 0.3 mile/0.4 mile walk, and though Google Maps predicts a 7-minute walk time this can vary from person to person.
