Oakland Theater Project presents
THE F*GGOTS AND THEIR FRIENDS
BETWEEN REVOLUTIONS
written by Larry Mitchell
illustrations by Ned Asta
adapted by Maxi Himpe and Mylo Cardona
After a sold-out run in October 2022, the fags are back due to popular demand! Don’t miss the show that everyone on Lex and Grindr was raving about—now on a bigger stage! Laughs, tears, queer healing, and community-building guaranteed.
In a world run by the evil men without color, the faggots and their friends are a mystical, underground people. Their ideals are the men’s fears: care, love and a refusal to conform.
As you enter their world, the fags will share with you seven short performances pieces, from drag to stand-up, puppetry to dance. And you’ll meet Lilac and Loose Tomato, two fags on the same journey as you: figuring out how to be a good person in a fucked-up world. As you acquire their Wisdoms and stories, we hope that you, too, will learn that being a fag is more than a sexuality or gender orientation: it’s a way of being.
