(NO MORE) adjustments

A workshop performance by Champagne Hughes

Oakland Theater Project is thrilled to present OTP Company Member Champagne Hughes’s new solo show (NO MORE) adjustments.

(NO MORE) adjustments explores a deeply personal story while employing therapeutic techniques, interactive experiences, and theatrical ritual as Hughes seeks to reclaim her power and stand in her truth.

Hughes interrogates her past and seeks to shed trauma and invites us all to do the same. A powerful exploration of Black healing and transformation not to be missed!

After workshopping part of the piece at OTP, Hughes took the play to Lorraine Hansberry Theatre and participated in their New Black Voices Mentorship Program. The show was workshopped and mounted for a stirring performance in the Spring. Champagne Hughes is bringing this important and unforgettable story and immersive experience to Oakland Theater Project!

One of the most profound aspects of my work in the arts is its ability to facilitate healing. It’s incredibly rewarding to know that my work can create an environment where individuals can connect with their own emotions, experiences, and, ultimately, find solace and healing through the shared journey of storytelling.
